This intensive 5 day workshop follows the model of the hero's journey, which provides a timeless emotional, physical, energetic and spiritual model of the development of human consciousness and personal growth.
During those 5 days we will undertake, in eleven steps that build on each other, a journey to our deepest emotional and spiritual core, through darkness to light. We will learn about our greatest weakness and our greatest strength, we will build a vision, meet our vulnerability and experience contradiction as a gift to eventually find the creative source, our true self and inner sanctuary.
On this journey, horses will be our teachers, guides and companions. Their wisdom is the wisdom of nature, of being, of the body, of the heart. They provide connection to all that is. The workshop covers introductory and advanced exercises and material of the internationally renowned Epona Approach™ developed by Linda Kohanov and laid down in her bestselling books: "The Tao of Equus", "Riding between the Worlds" and "Way of the Horse". The Epona exercises that will be covered are: Reflective Round Pen Work, Active Round Pen Work, Energetic Boundaries between Horses and Humans, Horse Dancing.
Participants will receive a certificate for the attention of an Epona Introductory Workshop that allows them to participate in Epona- Advanced programs.

Prerequisites: Experiences with horses are not necessary.
A 15 minute telephone interview with Ulrike Dietmann in English language is part of the application process. The TrainerUlrike Dietmann is Epona Approved Instructor and holds year round Epona workshops in Germany and international. She has worked with Carol Roush and Shelley Rosenberg from Epona, USA, in Epona Advanced workshops and translated books by Linda Kohanov and Shelley Rosenberg into German. She is also a professional fiction author and long time teacher of the hero's journey based on Joseph Campbell. Her book about the hero's journey with horses as teachers is a great success in Germany and will be published in English soon. The workshop participants will be given an English translation of the book. The Assistant Synnøve Bakke is a licensed Animal communicator, NLP Master Practitioner, Coach and Hypnotic practitioner. Her coaching training included “The Hero’s journey”, then without horses. She is a certified EAGALA practitioner (Equine assisted psychotherapy and learning), and Humanship practitioner. She did her training as a working student of Ian Benson, the founder of Humanship, in New Zealand. She is his assistant in Scandinavia. “I had a life changing meeting with a horse 10 years ago. The Practical All work with the horses will take place in a safe environment. The safety of humans and horses has top priority. The communication in the group follows the rules of an authentic community, in which everybody has room to express his or her feelings and in which all participants take over responsibility for empathy, respect, acceptance and clear boundaries. There will be a maximum of 6 participants. The workshop will be held in English language. Basic knowledge of the English language is sufficient.
Dates and Times The workshop begins on September 13th, 2011 at 10 am and ends September 17th, 5 pm.Workshop hours on the other days will be: 9 am – 5 pm. On September 16th, there will be a shared evening.
Workshop fee NOK 7.200,-. The workshop fee includes workshop material, lunch, snacks, drinks and fruit on all workshop days. Please consider that the fee is based on the fact that every participant will experience a guided transformation process, facilitated by the horses. This process has a very individual shape that unfolds in a safe and protected environment. Therefore the number of participants is limited to six, to give everybody full space, attention and protection for their process. There is no audience allowed for this workshop.
Place The workshop will be held at Nordre Brevig, a beautiful farm located by the fresh water lake Lyseren. As well as being a agricultural farm runned by the Jacobsen family since 1877, it provides the home to a lot of different animals,

How to get there Nordre Brevig is located about 45 min by car from Oslo center, 40 min from Lillestrøm, 25 min from Ski and 60 min from Oslo Airport Gardermoen. You can also go by bus. Bus no 501 from Oslo bus terminal and you jump off at Enebakk Kirke or Tømmerbråten. From Oslo airport Gardemoen you can catch the train to Lillestrøm and 501 buss to Enebakk, Tømmerbråten. Where to stay There is an offer to stay in an inexpensive private lodging at the neighbor farm. Price room: 100 NOK per night per person. Min 2, max 5 per. Nice place but not single room. Little kitchen and shower/wc. The nearest town is Ski, about 25 km away, where you can find hotels.
What to bring During the course of the day, we will swap being both indoor and outdoor. As the weather and temperature in September can be unpredictable, we advise you to prepare for all sorts of weather, including rain and cold days. And of course clothing and footwear suitable for being around horses. Also indoor shoes and comfortable clothes for doing meditations etc.
